The DivePoint team has been living this slogan in the Maldives for a long time. Marcus’ own enthusiasm for diving and the fascinating underwater world of the Maldives prompted him to relocate to the Maldives in the 1980s.
In 2006 Marcus met his current business partner Mohamed Jalal (Jerry), who started out as a compressor technician in 1998, then worked as a divemaster and later as a diving instructor on Rannalhi.
Their first meeting was so familiar that in July of the same year they decided to turn their passion for diving into a joint business and founded the first DivePoint dive centers on the resort islands of Rannalhi and Meedhupparu
Today, many years later, DivePoint Maldives has developed into an established institution that makes the fascination of the Maldives that little bit more special for diving enthusiasts from all over the world.
With a total of five dive centers, four of which are located on resort islands and another on Jerry’s home island of Guraidhoo, DivePoint Maldives has set the standard when it comes to professional diving tourism with a fun factor.
It is also worth noting that they were the first diving school operators to expand their services to include water sports centers to offer an all-inclusive package for all types of water sports. This concept is still very successful today.
However, what really sets DivePoint & WatersportsPoint apart goes far beyond the mere business. It is the personal touch, dedication and passion that characterize Marcus, Jerry and their team.
Marcus, his partner Anna and Jerry live at their dive centers most of the time… and that makes all the difference!
Under the motto “Dive with friends”, we have turned our passion into a vocation after realizing that in recent years the personality and relationship between diver and base has unfortunately been increasingly neglected. It’s not just about the diving, it’s about everything around it and everything has to fit. We are delighted and very happy when we see and feel that our guests come out of the water with shining eyes. Fortunately, professionalism and proper equipment are a matter of course these days.
Our mission is to provide our guests with all-round care and to respond to each individual and spend the most precious time with you: TIME (and we all have it).
